Released seven years after the final episode of the original series and three years before Star Trek: The Motion Picture, the franchise maintained such a dynamic cult following that Topps seized the opportunity to increase their bottom line with an 88-card set in 1976. While not nearly as scarce as the glossy black and white Leaf cards from when the series ran in 1967 (only a single pack has ever been graded by PSA), the '76 version is nonetheless very tough to find in unopened wax box form. But here's a shoutout to all you Trekkers (that's the correct term for Star Trek aficionados) with the presentation of an unopened wax box of 36 ten-cent packs, authenticated and sealed with the BBCE label. That's right, Kirk, Spock, McCoy, Sulu, crewman #3 who was gone in the first eight minutes of season two, episode seven ... they're all part of the collection. As the seemingly timeless series continues to "live long and prosper," unopened boxes like this will only grow in demand.
