The Fleer Company was locked out of producing baseball cards of current players in the late 1950s-early 1960s, all except one ... Ted Williams. So they made the most of what they had, making an all Ted Williams collection in 1959 and a set of all-time greats, Williams included, in 1960 and 1961. Featured here is an upper-grade near complete 1959 Fleer Ted Williams (missing only card #68) and a high grade 1961 Fleer set. The '59 collection is 15% NM or better, 40% EX/MT, 35% EX and 10% lower while the '61 set is 30% NM/MT or better, 50% NM, 15% EX/MT and 5% lower with #1 Baker/Wheat/Cobb EX/MT, 14 Cobb NM+, 31 Gehrig NM/MT, 75 Ruth NM+, 150 Wagner EX/MT+, 152 T. Williams VG/EX and 153 Cy Young NM/MT.
