If there was even another baseball legend who could compare to "The Georgia Peach" Ty Cobb, it's "The Grey Eagle" Tris Speaker. Known for his miraculous .345 career batting average that has him placed #6 on the all-time list, Hall of Famer Speaker, like Cobb, was also one of the greatest base runners in the history of the sport. His uncanny instincts, combined with his blazing speed and ability to put the ball in play, helped him routinely stretch a single into a double as Speaker concluded his 22-year career as the game's all-time leader with 792 career doubles, a mark that still stands nearly a century later. Speaker made three trips to the World Series (twice with Boston in 1912 and 1915, and once with Cleveland in 1920) and won them all. Presented is Tris Speaker's stunningly bold blue autograph on this OAL (Harridge) baseball, a brilliant penning to the right of the faded major-league stamp that is one of the strongest that we've ever seen. Both the ball shows nicks and marks that suggest it was game-used (we can't verify that) the autograph is simply among the finest examples ever offered for public sale. Earning an LOA from JSA, it's a centerpiece to an advanced autographed baseball collection.
