The first patented card game to offer real baseball-type action, the 1884 Lawson's Patent Game was issued in Boston, Massachusetts, and features a playing card set of 36 cards with baseball-themed designs and two "value of cards" pieces and a rule book. The backs are blue and white with a detailed 19th-century baseball scene. The cards are EX-NM overall and the original box is lower grade (VG) with some loose areas of paper but still intact.
