Next item up for bid: this large porcelain figurine produced in Germany during the 1890s by Heubach. This brightly painted statue depicts a pitcher holding a ball in front of his chest, and is the largest of several sizes manufactured by the company. Due to their delicate nature and the fact that they are scarcer because they were more costly to purchase, these large varieties are seldom seen. This example shows evidence of the head being broken off at some point and reattached, and there is a hairline crack in the pitcher's right shoe. Overall, a very attractive display item that doesn't come up for auction very often.
