Presented here is an outstanding original Type I photograph of the 1905 World Champion New York Giants, featuring Hall of Fame inductees Christy Mathewson, John McGraw, Roger Bresnahan, and Joe "Iron Man" McGinnity. This oversized photograph measures approximately 24" x 18" mounted to approximately 27" x 21" and shows outstanding contrast and clarity for a photo of this size. This image was taken by noted photographer George Lawrence, whose credits appear in the lower right corner. This is the exact image that was used for the cover of the 1905 World Series program. Both the photo and the mount show slight water damage and the mount has a tear in the top edge that has been repaired with tape from the reverse. Overall a very important period photograph featuring the Christian Gentleman.
