Once you get past the rare variations, probably the most important card in the tremendous T206 series is the "red background" example of "The Georgia Peach" Ty Cobb. While he didn't have the star power of some other players at the time, Cobb was coming off a season where he led the American League in hits, doubles, triples, runs batted in, and batting average (his 2nd AL batting title on his way to 9 consecutive crowns and 12 titles over 13 seasons). And he was just 21 years old! Graded SGC 4, the featured card has a moderate shift toward the left but the regal image of Cobb and the accompanying red backdrop is sharp and bright. The Piedmont reverse is well-centered. Overall, a very good specimen to pace any advanced collection.
