Regarded as a “slant ball artist” and a “big game pitcher,” Donovan drew–and often won–key matchups during Detroit’s run of three consecutive World Series appearances from 1907 to 1909. His 25-4 mark in 1907 was the best winning percentage in the AL, and by 1912 he had compiled 184 major league victories, 139 of them in 10 years with the Tigers. Of the 385 copies of this card that have been to PSA the featured keepsake is 1 of just 5 copies that has been graded NM/MT 8 with just a sole example graded higher.
