One of the more intriguing tobacco issues of the early 20th Century, the Sweet Caporal Domino Disk series features each player with two different pictures and any one of three possible background colors. Consider that the amount of dots on the reverse side domino is not exclusive to the player and the number of different variations is virtually endless. However, collecting each player without regard to the background color or domino arrangement is considered a complete set, and this 129-count compilation stands at the pinnacle of the PSA Set Registry, ranked #1 with an overall GPA of 6.889. In fact, the #2 set lags far behind, just short of completion with a 5.27 set rating. Obviously you don't build such a dominant assemblage without a sizable amount of specimens that reside at the highest existing grade and this set contains 73 such examples, 35 of which are "one of one." Key Hall of Famers that stand alone at the top of the PSA pop report are Bender (PSA 9), Bresnahan (PSA 8), M. Brown (PSA 8), Delahanty (PSA 7), Griffith (PSA 9), Lajoie (PSA 9), Marquard (PSA 8), and Tinker (PSA 9).
