Graded at the NM 7 level by PSA, the featured collectible is without question one of the most sought-after issues of the Georgia Peach. One look and it becomes clear as to why. Tyrus Raymond Cobb is synonymous with grit, passion and fervor, and those qualities are indeed captured in the portrait issue of the E95 Philadelphia Caramel release. In fact, this is the only set known to utilize this image, as the other caramel cards of the period depicted him in batting and fielding poses. This unique image compels collectors from all walks of life to add an example to their trophy room, but it just so happens that the offered copy stands as one of just 4 in the alluring grade of NM 7 with not a single higher-graded example listed on the PSA pop report. A profoundly saturated maroon backdrop supports the clearly defined image of the inaugural class Hall of Famer, framed by smooth, white borders and corners that meet or exceed the parameters for the assigned grade. The reverse is bold and crisp, with very minimal evidence of the product staining that so commonly defiles the issue due to method of distribution. At the absolute top of its class, this fantastic gem is worthy of inclusion in the most advanced of collections!
