Here's the General Baking variation of Honus Wagner's difficult D304 card. It's widely accepted that Honus Wagner wasn't a fan of tobacco products and objected to having his likeness used in selling the product, leading to his T206 white border card becoming the pinnacle of pre-war card collecting. But "The Flying Dutchman" was perfectly fine with the advertising in the D304 series, which included the featured example. Ironically, the presented card is far more scarce than his legendary and pricey T206 issue, reporting less than 10 examples on record from PSA and SGC combined. Considered to be in the twilight of his career and yielding in popularity to such up-and-coming superstars as Ty Cobb, Wagner was still going strong, winning the 1911 National League batting title (his 8th crown) while swiping 20 bases; not bad for a 37-year-old. This rare relic has seen better days with extensive wear and has been expertly taped back together, but if you've always wanted a vintage Honus Wagner card that many advanced hobbyists have never even seen, here it is.
