Baseball and tobacco went hand in hand in the early 20th century, and Ty Cobb wasn't the only diamond legend to have a tobacco product named after him. Here's Babe Ruth's image for Bambino Smoking Tobacco, and the featured tin carries a remarkable black-and-white silhouette at the forefront of a bright red backdrop. By calling it "Bambino" and making the image a silhouette, Bailey Bros. was able to avoid paying Ruth royalties as he never officially endorsed the product. Moderate scratches and missing paint are evident as are a few tiny dings, but it appears better overall than most of the few surviving examples. Pieces of the tax stamps appear on the side, with a large intact stamp on the bottom. Approximately 4 1/2" x 3 1/4."
