After a league-demolishing 54 round-trippers in his first season with the Yankees, Ruth had an even grander encore with 59 dingers, upping his RBI total to 168 and even improving his .376 batting average in 1920 to .378. Ruth didn't get his first home run of the 1921 season until the team's 3rd game, but here it is on paper, courtesy of Underwood & Underwood. Ruth, the catcher, and the umpire look on as "The Bambino" admires his handiwork and touches them all for the first time in 1921. The 6 1/2" x 8 1/2" photo has numerous markings, the Underwood & Underwood stamp, and the teletype caption on the reverse, and is both slabbed by PSA/DNA and has a full LOA. Overall Very Good to Excellent condition with no major flaws on the front.
