One of the first true superstars of football, Red Grange earned his "Galloping Ghost" nickname and made headlines by scoring five touchdowns on consecutive carries on October 18, 1924, against the University of Michigan. Here we have an original type I photo of Grange posing in his University of Illinois uniform, measuring 6 1/2" x 8 1/2" with Pacific & Atlantic stamping and a Jan 5, 1928, date stamp. A wrinkle coming up from the bottom edge is the only significant sign of age. A really impressive photo for any vintage collector. LOA from PSA/DNA.
