Issued at a one-day event to honor the former baseball legend and Pittsburgh Pirates assistant coach at Ebbets Field, May 4, 1933, this is a "Honus Wagner Day" ribbon that is rarely seen due to how few were distributed. The gold lettering on the ribbon has been impeded as a result of age but is still very legible, and the back of the ribbon is stamped "W.M.T. Wager" with the New York address. The goldtone star houses a nostalgic black and white image of "The Flying Dutchman." Some aging to the ribbon is evident, as you'd expect, but with an attendance of approximately 12,000 for that game, pieces like this don't come around often!
