"Teddy Ballgame's" 1940 Play Ball issue is one of his most popular, a second-year example from the Philadelphia gum company that offers a grainy but accurate black and white portrait of the baseball legend, just turning 21 years old but already possessing an American League RBI crown from his rookie season. Graded NM/MT 8 by PSA, this one showcases NM/MT to NM/MT+ corners, none of which show any significant wear. Equally impressive are both the front and back surfaces, extremely clean and fresh. The centering appears very close to perfect, side to side as well as top to bottom. This is a fresh-looking, high-end baseball card!
