This hardcover tome details the life and times of Walter Johnson, regarded by many as the greatest pitcher the game has ever known. There are two autographs to behold on the inside cover, one of the author, Roger Treat, and one of Hall of Famer Clark Griffith, who wrote the introduction for this book. Both autographs are worthy of grades of at least seven, and the book itself is in NM/MT condition. The cover displays only a few minor tears but offers tremendous visual appeal. Offered is an appealing Special Limited Washington Edition, numbered 123 with signatures from the author on both the first page, just inside the cover, as well as on the page that identifies this copy as a special edition. Clark Griffith, manager of Walter Johnson and owner of the Senators at the time of the book's issue, has also signed this copy just inside the front cover. The dust jacket is in FAIR condition but the book itself is extremely clean with a tight binding and tear-free corners.
