The one and only PSA 2 on record (the other three that have gone through PSA headquarters have been graded either AUTHENTIC or PSA 1), here's Ted Williams from the Japanese 1950 Menko U. S. Major League series, a six-card collection that also features Bob Feller, Stan Musial, Joe DiMaggio, Lou Boudreau, and Johnny Mize. As baseball gained prominence in the USA, the country of Japan caught on to the sport, which led to an American barnstorming tour overseas in the 1930s and the formation of a Japanese baseball league. Very little is known about JCM125 series cards other than their origin and that they are extremely rare with no more than 3 examples known to exist of each subject. This example shows a wonderful depiction of Ted Williams, well-centered and very eye-appealing, with Japanese writing that shows Ted's team and position on the sides and "American Big Leagues" at the top of the reverse. The center has a "T" for Ted and Japanese writing below it that translates to "Williams." A truly spectacular, one-of-a-kind piece!
