Graded VG 3 by PSA. Offered is the quintessential Post War collectible from our chosen field, a 1952 Topps #311 Mickey Mantle! Advanced placement within collector ranks is often placed upon the throne of this card, how often have each and everyone of us either remarked or overheard "well what does his Mantle look like?" never having to even reference the manufacturer or the year of issue as if those two pieces of information are meaningless to the conversation at hand! When the aforementioned phrase is mentioned the fact of the matter is that all enthusiasts are really only speaking of one card, the 1952 Topps #311 Mickey Mantle. Featured is a terrific mid grade example that boasts a well centered image with mild to moderate, but even corner wear apparent on all four extremities. The color is an above the norm rapture of azure blue that surrounds a sparkling image of the baby faced Yankee siege gun with his canary yellow war club slung over right shoulder. From the flesh tones of his face to the steely blue of his famous Yankee cap its all here! The surface of the card is far above the norm for a card graded VG 3 by PSA as there are no apparent creases save for a small line above Mickey's hands as well as three exceptionally small pin dot sized specks of missing stock to the left of the sluggers neck. The reverse is a splendid slate gray stock highlighted by the black and red text with no staining apparent. A terrific copy of this exceptionally popular card that will be the pride of its new owner.
