One of the grand prizes of the inaugural 1952 Topps series, the featured example of Hall of Famer Willie Mays is graded a modest PSA 3 due to the usual wear along the perimeter and specifically at the endpoints. That said, this exemplary piece projects well in advance of most at its grade level in large part due to the intoxicating central image and near-perfect centering, two traits you rarely see together at the VG level. If you're building a lower-grade set or just wanted a '52 Topps Mays that offers exceptional value, you likely won't find a more pleasing example.
