One of the truly unheralded hurlers of the post-war era, it's a pretty good bet that Warren Spahn would have finished his career with over 400 victories had he not lost three years to military service. Spahn broke the 20-win mark 13 times in his career, including six consecutive seasons from 1956-1961, and tied his career best of 23 in 1963 at the age of 42. This MINT specimen from the 1952 Topps set is one of just 6 to grade PSA 9 with none graded higher, and that's red back and black back combined. A robust red backdrop surrounds a large, detailed image of the legendary hurler, positioned within a snow white border that flaunts the cards pristine endpoints, the top two of which are GEM MINT. The black back reverse is equally as impressive, an immaculate canvas with deep print and a pack-fresh appearance. This beauty begs to be in a PSA Set Registry collection!
