Projecting a glowing orange backdrop that is unmatched in the 1952 Topps series, presented is a stunning PSA 8 example of Gil Hodges' black-back card from Topps' inaugural series. Gil Hodges was a middle of the order power-hitting run-producer for all of the great Brooklyn Dodgers teams of the late 1940's to 1955. In those seven seasons, Hodges drove in 100 or more runs, and hammered out an average of 31 homers per season. This black-backed 1952 Topps Gil Hodges card is one of the toughest to find in the first series, a decently centered horizontal beauty with razor sharp corners and an amazingly clean surface. And it appears every bit as good as the grade suggests!
