Now having to fight for market share, Bowman made some drastic changes to their design; first and foremost was to increase the size of the cards to match the "super-sized" cards that Topps was printing. But a complete makeover of the card was also performed, with great success. Most vintage card collectors agree that the 1953 Bowman Color set may be the most popular issue that Bowman ever produced.
