Graded NM 7 by PSA. While the previous words are in fact true, please take a look at the offered card! It is with amazement as well as a touch of sadness that our hobby has come to a point where a card that looks like the featured collectible can't be graded NM/MT 8 by a grading service. Possessing characteristics far in advance of even a NM/MT copy, the offered card hails as a recently graded copy that has fallen victim to grading standards that are of the absurd. The corners all stand at the NM/MT or better level with the all important lower left red corner showing a perfectly formed corner with no apparent wear to downgrade. The red edges along the bottom and right side are fantastic, giving no cause for concern, while the brilliant red, white and blue pigments of the central image, not to mention the lifelike delivery of Mantle's thoughtful expression, are among the best you can ever hope to find. The reverse is equally as impressive, displaying sharp black print on a clean surface graced with varying shades of bold red pigment. The surface booms with a convergence of exceptional color as well as a captivating gloss. The centering appears astute from left to right while the top to bottom centering ever so slightly favors the bottom edge but still appears within any tolerance to a higher assessment. A card that absolutely is befitting of a NM/MT 8 holder but is being offered in a NM 7 holder. We will go ahead and call this NM/MT!
