Offered is a captivating unopened relic that can trace its roots back to the Paris, TN unopened find of 1954-55 Topps and Bowman Baseball and Football unopened boxes that was made in the mid to late 1980's. The featured box displays well with a colorful outer box that is similar to the box used for the 5 cent packs but without the added notation that there are seven cards in a pack. It is nice to know that the 119 packs found in this box are in fact offered in the colorful box and not the generic penny pack box which is just plain brownish cardboard. As previously stated the box which shows some wear and has several slight and full splits of the side seams does contain 119 of the issued 120 packs. The packs are offered in various states of preservation and condition. As is known the Paris, TN find had many packs that showed differing levels of issues from packs that appeared in high grade to packs that actually just had to be thrown out as they displayed water damage and major mildew. The featured collectible offers approximately 20% of the packs in NM or better condition, while 20% are EX to EX/MT, and about 20% of the packs are in VG/EX condition displaying slight traces of mildew at the ends of the pack which most likely will not interfere with the cards, as well about 25% of the packs are about VG to VG- condition and about 15% of the packs are heavily damaged and are used basically as fillers. The box was sent to Steve Hart at BBCE who reviewed the box at our request and has agreed that the packs are intact unopened and are as issued with the condition aside. BBCE will not write a letter for the box as it is not their general practice at the current time due to possible issues that may arise in the future with their letter out and not being tied to a wrapped box. A fantastic opportunity to acquire n unopened box from the 1950s!
