With Willie Mays and Mickey Mantle making their debut in the 1951 Bowman set, the honor falls to Hank Aaron as being the subject of the most significant Topps rookie card of the 1950s, and that says a lot considering the 1952 Eddie Mathews and the 1955 Clemente and Koufax among others. The presented example of Hank Aaron's 1954 Topps rookie issue has been graded PSA 6 EX/MT but displays a number of superior virtues for its technically correct but seemingly conservative grade from PSA. A heavy rough-cut along vertical edges gives the card an added aesthetic rarely seen on the issue while the dual images of Aaron and the pumpkin-orange backdrop are clean and bold, clear of stray print that often invades the backdrop. Centering marginally favors the lower left and the reverse has slight toning and a small amount of obligatory chipping along the green edges. A positively shimmering Hank Aaron rookie card, one of the better ones that you'll encounter in its EX/MT 6 class.
