A highly touted bonus-baby who made his Dodgers debut at the age of 19, Hall of Famer Sandy Koufax's career went from mediocre to meteoric at the halfway point. In his first six seasons, he was a pedestrian 36-40 with a 4.10 ERA, but in his final six seasons, he was virtually untouchable with a 2.19 ERA, 129-47 record, and 35 shutouts. Oh yeah, toss in a few no-hitters, a perfect game, three Cy Young awards and a major league record of 382 strikeouts in a season. It's no wonder that his 1955 Topps rookie card is one of the most popular ever produced by Topps. The presented PSA 8 specimen is accurately centered with NM/MT to NM/MT+ corners and edges that encompass a pristinely registered image on a glossy front surface, practically devoid of the irksome stray print dots that almost always plague this monumental issue. The reverse shows inconsequential toning that is common to the issue, adding a touch of character to one of the most prestigious pasteboards of the 1950s. A spectacular card of one of baseball's all-time greats!
