Sandy Koufax tossed four no-hitters (one being a perfect game) and Harmon Killebrew smashed the 500-HR barrier, both of which appear on 1955 Topps rookie cards. Yet it's the debut issue of Roberto Clemente in the series that reigns supreme! One of the most highly prized issues in all of the post-war era, the Roberto Clemente rookie card has proven to be one of the best investments in the vintage card market and this PSA 7 example is one of the sharpest that we've seen at this grade level. The featured card shows a typical mild shift of the central image toward the right horizontal edge but it's mild compared to most others and doesn't detract from the red and green pigments that dominate the surface, uncommonly bright and bold. The reverse shows the usual moderate toning and the corners are well within the standards demanded of the grade. If you're in the market for a NM Clemente rookie card, you will likely be quite satisfied with this one.
