Not including key rookie cards and extenuating circumstances such as rare variations or short prints, there are few cards that can compete with the 1956 Topps issue of Mickey Mantle for overall popularity. The layout, the color, and the importance of it being issued during his historic Triple Crown season all contribute to it being a collector's fave. Graced by solid centering, a rugged rough-cut along the bottom horizontal edge, and four NM/MT to NM/MT+ corners, this is certainly one of the nicer '56 Topps Mantle PSA 8's you will ever come across and unquestionably PSA Set Registry worthy. Not only is the perimeter exceptionally sharp for the given grade, but the entire surface is extremely high-caliber. Mick's portrait is impressively registered while the typically crude in-action shot to the left is even more remarkable as "The Mick" takes on a few fans that are attempting to put the kibosh on his home run stealing catch. In short, a high-end PSA 8 NM/MT specimen of one of Mick's most celebrated issues.
