Over the course of his 23-year Hall of Fame career, Brooks Robinson earned 16 consecutive Gold Glove awards at the hot corner, hence his nickname, "The Human Vacuum Cleaner." He also made 15 straight appearances in the mid-summer classic and won two World Series championships with the Orioles in 1964 and 1970. While not a longball hitter in line with the likes of Mays, Aaron, or Mantle, Brooks showed some pop with the bat, hitting 15 or more round-trippers nine times en route to a career total of 268. Offered is an intensely bold and amazingly well-focused example of Robinson's appropriately orange-hued 1957 Topps rookie issue. Graded PSA 9, a label surpassed by one lone specimen out of over 6,000 submissions, the easiest way to sum up this card is that it's close to GEM MINT in virtually every respect. The central image is bright with accurate registration and the reverse is exactly as it should be. There probably weren't many cards that came directly out of the pack in 1957 that could stack up to this one!
