Every generation has at least one legendary athlete who was never supposed to make it but turned out to be not only a good player, but an icon. Hall of Fame QB Johnny Unitas is hailed as one of the greatest to ever play the position, but when he was drafted in the 9th round of the 1955 NFL Draft (#102 overall) by the Pittsburgh Steelers and cut without ever taking a snap because he was deemed not smart enough to play the position, it's seemed that "Johnny U" was being labeled as "Johnny U ain't good enough." Fast forward a few decades and Johnny Unitas punched his ticket to Canton. Unitas heads up the 1959 Topps series as card #1, which usually means a card that you won't find in high grade. The featured treasure is one of only 10 to earn a PSA 9 grade with one graded higher, making it a strong way to start off your advanced collection and warn the competition on the PSA Set Registry that you're in it to win it. An incredible image of Unitas is delivered with perfect registration and pigmentation, nearly dead-centered on the canvas, and paired with bonafide MINT to GEM MINT endpoints. You may not get a chance to catch a 1959 Topps Johnny Unitas of this quality for a long time, so make the most of it.
