Any card from the 1959 Topps series that carries the radiant yellow backdrop and earns a PSA 9 MINT grade is tantamount to a hobby miracle, but when that subject happens to be Hall of Famer Hank Aaron, not only should it have the attention of every collector that has a top-ranked set on the Set Registry, but every collector, period! Aaron entered the 1959 campaign as a 24-year-old star with 140 career homers, solid numbers to say the least but far behind Mathews (190), Ott (176), Foxx (174), and Mantle (173) for homers at the same age and was not considered a threat to catch "The Babe" for the all-time home run crown (spoiler alert: he did). The image of "The Hammer" is simply beautiful, surrounded by that sun-soaked backdrop and bright white border that spotlights the accurate centering. The corners and edges are as good as the day the card came out of the pack, amazingly keen and worthy of MINT consideration. This is a truly spectacular example, released after Aaron had just completed his third consecutive season with a batting average that surpassed the .320 mark.
