Famous for their bright colors and checkerboard backdrops, not to mention the rookie card of Hall of Famer Stan Mikita, the 1960 Topps hockey set truly carries a design indicative of the times, when a brash, young Navy vet known as JFK took on and defeated then Vice President Richard Nixon. While needing 3 cards to complete the set (#5, 23, and 58 Hull), this assemblage already ranks as the #7 Current Finest set on the PSA Set Registry. Of the 63 presented cards, 13 are graded PSA 9 (#3, 10, 11 Bucyk, 13, 15, 16, 19 Vezina, 26, 31, 38, 46, 51, and 55). Stan Mikita's coveted rookie is graded PSA 8, as are all other cards except for #1 (PSA 8 oc), and 57 (PSA 7). Card #15 George Hay is the one and only PSA 9 with just one higher, and 21 cards are unsurpassed in grade on the PSA pop report.
