One of the true tragedies in NFL history, Heisman Trophy winner Ernie Davis was the first overall selection in the 1962 NFL Draft but after being diagnosed with leukemia that same year, passed away shortly after at age 23, having never played in a professional game. Here's Davis on his 1962 Topps rookie card, a tribute to the fallen prospect, a well-centered specimen with virtually no chipping along the jet-black edges and corners that make it worthy of PSA 8 status.
