It's really a shame that Pete Rose didn't get to fly solo on his rookie card, but then again, who would have predicted that "Charlie Hustle" would one day become the all-time hit king? In the three minor league seasons leading up to his 1963 debut, Rose batted a combined .317, but his most impressive feat was hitting 30 triples in the Florida State League in 1961.
It's still unknown whether Pete Rose will ever see his enshrinement in Cooperstown, but there is little doubt that he was one of the fiercest competitors and greatest players the game has ever known and his body of work is unquestionably Hall of Fame worthy. His rookie appearance on the offered example bears the grade of NM/MT 8 as assigned by PSA, exhibiting vivid colors that are shielded by a strong layer of shimmering gloss. The extreme upper corners, susceptible to wear due to the full-bleed colored border, show light touches but the rest of the blue border is virtually flawless. A very pleasing NM/MT example to anchor an advanced vintage collection.
