Trying to stay a step ahead of Fleer and any other challengers that happened to come their way, Topps tinkered around with an extensive assortment of issues to supplement their baseball card series. While the idea of inexpensively offering rub-on tattoos of their favorite players to kids, an idea they tried once before in 1960, seemed like it could be a winner this time around, it wasn't very well received and the 1964 Topps Photo Tatoos were relegated to the status of "odd-ball" collectibles. Individual packs or even a display box is a rare find, but we've got a near complete box of 103 of the 120 pieces. While the actual display box has seen better days, taped together in some areas, the packs are all in amazing NM/MT condition. Steve Hart of Baseball Card Exchange has examined the packs and verified them as authentic and unopened while sealing the box with wrap. A very interesting piece of Topps history, perhaps the only one of is kind.
