If you were a kid growing up in the 1960s,in the USA there is a great chance you had never seen a Hockey card before. With interest in the NHL lagging behind baseball, football and even Basketball for many. Offered is Topps Archives Binder 1965-66 Hockey that contains two complete sets. Now, the original file copy sets stored by the company 59 seasons ago are offered here for your bidding pleasure. A slice of hobby history, the black binder, with 256 cards neatly glued inside are presented for the first time. Storing copies of the cards it produced was standard practice at Topps for many years. Two of each card from its many sets—one showing the front and one revealing the back—were pasted into those oversized scrapbooks and then stored for archive purposes. The cards appear as though they did the day the cards rolled of the press. Exceptional corners with vibrant like new color as well as booming gloss. A treasure trove that offers exceptional breakup if the new owner chooses to have the cards taken out of the books professionally. This original was sold in the famous 1989 Guernsey's auction in New York, being one of the original "Gelman" catalogs and features his original hand written notes. Offered in NM or better condition with some centering issues being the lone stumbling block. The Phil Esposito Rookie cards appear spectacular with the card showing having a slight lean to the left border. A great piece of Topps history!
