The 1967 Topps baseball set might be the most complete assemblage from a hobbyist standpoint that Topps has ever produced, for a variety of reasons. Reminiscent of the 1957 set, the majority of the cards in the '67 series feature on-field shots, however, the quality of the photography is vastly superior to the cards from a decade earlier, exhibiting bolder colors and sharper focus of the subjects. The high-number series carries some difficult shortprints that are hard to find in top grades. There are even a few quirky variation cards that are fun to collect (if you can find them) and a classic portrait shot of Mickey Mantle against a baby-blue backdrop that many collectors think is his most attractive card of the decade. If there is any one aspect of the 1967 Topps set that doesn't excel, it's the limited selection of key rookie cards, although there are two extremely important debut pasteboards in Hall of Famers Tom Seaver and Rod Carew. Yup, the 1967 Topps series is a classic, and the featured master set is a marvel, ranked #4 on the PSA Set Registry with an impressive 9.007 GPA. The collection is over 96% PSA 9 MINT including the Seaver and Carew rookie cards, Mantle, Mays, Aaron, Banks, Clemente, and all of the other Hall of Famers. There are 17 cards graded PSA 8, four graded PSA 7, and two graded PSA 6, most of which are the variation cards. This set is being offered as a complete set and also as individual lots and will be sold by the highest aggregate result, whether that is the sum of the individual lots or the highest bid for the complete set. Our website will automatically reflect whichever portion has received the highest bidding total. Placing a bid on this lot constitutes bidding on the complete set.
