At 6' 4" and a svelte 198 pounds, Hall of Famer Willie McCovey was given the nickname "Stretch", but don't let that fool you. He may have looked lanky, but there was plenty of pop in that bat to the tune of 521 lifetime homers, leading the National League in round-trippers three times and earning a National League MVP award in 1969. A model of consistency, McCovey slammed 30 or more dingers for six consecutive seasons from 1965-70 and batted .291 during that, uhhh ... stretch. The featured jersey was worn by McCovey during the 1968 season when McCovey won both the NL home run and RBI title. The jersey originates from the family of a former Giants player in the 1960s and had remained in their position, providing rock-solid provenance. A Wilson size 44 label is sewn inside the tail, along with a 1968 Set I team tag. Game use is prevalent with loose stitching, mild staining, and puckering of the tags exhibited. An outstanding gamer and a magnificent piece of history! LOA from David Randolph/ Sports Investors Authentication.
