Featured is an attractive 1969 Topps Basketball complete set along with a complete 1969 Topps Basketball Ruler Insert Set. Topps had absolutely been on a hiatus from issuing Basketball cards since 1957, but with the heralded Lew Alcindor coming to the league is was time for Topps to capitalize. Issued in the "Tall Boy" format the release is a pleasing issue with several first time cardboard appearances. The set grades the following. #25 Alcindor SGC 5 EX. The stars grade the following: #1 Chamberlain EX+, #3 Russell NM, #10 Thurmond NM, #15 Hawkins EX/MT, #20 Havlicek NM+, #35 Baylor NM/MT, #40 Cunningham NM, #43 Bradley NM+, #44 Wilkens NM/MT, #45 Lucas NM+, #50 Robertson NM+, #55 Bing NM/MT, #56 Unseld NM/MT, #60 Reed NM+, #75 Hayes NM+, #84 Greer NM, #85 Debusschere NM+, #90 West NM+, #98 Frazier NM, #99 Checklist EX. The remainder of the set grades the following: 35% NM/MT, 35% NM, 15% EX/MT, 15% EX or slightly less. The 1969 Topps Basketball Ruler set grades NM or better throughout save for Goodrich and Hayes which have small creases through the upper portion of the item.
