The 1970 Topps baseball release was once again expanded from the previous year, this time to a whopping 720 cards, and was produced with full-bleed gray borders which are just as condition-sensitive as the notorious black-bordered 1971 set. Combined with often-encountered centering issues, high-grade examples are rather uncommon and many collectors are satisfied with strong mid-grade offerings. For the first since 1956 there is no Mickey Mantle card with the two keys to the set being Nolan Ryan and the rookie card of Thurman Munson. The presented set is a strong mid to upper-level assemblage, checking in at approximately 35% NM or better, 40% EX/MT, 20% EX and 5% lower with key cards as follows: #140 R. Jackson EX, 189 Munson EX/MT, 350 Clemente NM+, 500 Aaron EX, 580 Rose NM, 600 Mays EX, 660 Bench EX/MT+ and 712 Ryan EX/MT (OC).
