In a world where the debut cards of players like Michael Jordan and LeBron James sell for astronomical figures, it makes the far more elusive 1972 Topps rookie card of Julius "Dr. J" Erving seem very undervalued in high grade, especially noting the centering issues and print problems facing the debut pasteboard of The Doctor. The centering here is very admirable, and while the reverse is shifted toward the right, it's far better than most and upholds the standards for the MINT grade. And then there's the infamous white print circle that usually resides under "Dr. J's" left elbow on most cards, but not here. Solid MINT corners and edges surround a sun-soaked yellow background that has barely picked up any traces of stray print, another common malady that invariably prevents this level of greatness. If you've been chasing after a top-notch specimen of Dr. J's rookie card, catch this one!
