Well past the conclusion of the original series and still three years away from the franchise's first motion picture, the Star Trek brand had become so popular with the sci-fi crowd that Topps jumped in and produced an 88-card set in 1976. While the collection doesn't have the extreme scarcity of the glossy black and white cards that Leaf produced in 1967, it's still highly coveted by non-sports collectors with 24 assemblages listed on the PSA Set Registry as 100% complete. Though it isn't difficult to locate high-grade cards at shows, hunting down unopened boxes like the one featured here has become very difficult. Offered is an unopened wax box of 36 ten cent packs, authenticated and sealed with the BBCE label.
