Most collectors wouldn't think much of a second-year Topps card of George Bett, even in PSA 9 condition, but advanced hobbyists know that this particular issue in this high a grade is one of the "white whales" of the modern card market. To illustrate how difficult it is to find a specimen like this, PSA has graded over 3,500 of them with 30 earning a PSA 9 grade and none graded PSA 10, while cards of his brother Ken Brett have a population of 59 graded PSA 9 and 12 graded PSA 10, out of just 122 submissions. This example earns the high mark with its near-perfect centering and endpoints, along with a boldly and cleanly delivered central image. You don't get many opportunities to acquire a PSA 9 1976 Topps George Brett, so if you've been looking for one, stop looking and start bidding.
