The 1980 season was a banner year for Steve Carlton. Lefty, as he was universally known around the league, led all National League pitchers with 24 wins. He was the major-league leader in strikeouts with 286. He struck out 10 or more batters in 11 games. What no one really knew was that in 1980 Lefty's rarest card by far was issued. Topps released the 1980 Topps Pepsi-Cola release and there are only 3 or possibly 4 copies of each card known to exist.
