Call it a coincidence if you'd like that just about every inaugural basketball set introduced a hobby-changing rookie card, but it's more likely a circumstance of trying to capitalize on a potential market. The 1948 Bowman (Mikan), 1957 Topps (Russell), 1961 Fleer (Chamberlain) and 1969 Topps (Alcindor) collections each gave us the pasteboard debut of a hardcourt legend, so it's no surprise that Fleer rejoined the fray in 1986 in time to produce the most coveted rookie card in the history of the sport. Offered here is an eye-pleasing SGC 9 MINT copy of Michael Jordan's famed rookie card. The white segment in the center of the border easily exposes even the smallest centering shift, and this one would qualify for GEM MINT consideration as it is to the right by no more than a degree or two, with a clean and robust image MJ levitating toward the hoop. The corners and edges are easily within the MINT to GEM MINT level, making it a wonderfully strong example for the grade. If you have been pining for a MINT Jordan RC, we're quite confident that this one will meet your satisfaction.
