Debate all you want about what is the greatest baseball, football, or hockey card ever produced; there really is no right or wrong answer. But with basketball, the conversation begins and ends with the 1986 Fleer series and Michael Jordan. Set aside your dissertation about Lebron Atomic Refractors or Luka super metal reverse refractor gold 1/1 autograph cards, because ... No. There has never been a greater basketball player than Michael Jordan and anyone who has witnessed Jordan's magic in person will likely never yield that position, no matter who comes along in the future. While MJ was lauded as a dynamic talent at the University of North Carolina, he was not anointed as "the next great thing" like #1 picks Shaq and LeBron, chosen #3 overall in the draft behind Hakeem Olajuwon and Sam Bowie. Of course, Olajuwon worked out just fine for the Houston Rockets. But for the Portland Trailbazers and Sam Bowie, not so much. Offered with pride is this amazingly powerful example of Michael Jordan's compelling rookie card sticker, an issue every bit as condition-sensitive as his mainstream rookie card. Poor centering and wax stains disqualify a large majority of examples from reaching the top of the PSA grading scale, but the featured specimen is nearly perfect in all facets, joining just 119 others at the GEM MINT level, approximately three times as scarce as his immortal card #57. In addition to sidestepping those common pitfalls, each corner is clearly GEM MINT and the reverse stands right up to the lofty task as well. If you've never owned the famous rookie sticker of "His Airness" in perfect PSA 10 GEM MINT condition but have been waiting to make the right investment, it's a good thing you waited for this one to come along. Simply awesome!
