It may never be known what, if any, role "Shoeless" Joe Jackson played in the 1919 Black Sox scandal, but one thing that is unquestionable is that he was a Hall of Fame caliber player! His lifetime .356 batting average ranks #4 on the all-time list, and there are precious few baseball cards and original photos that feature Jackson. But the offered type I original is one of the best. A wonderful portrait image of Jackson is frozen in time, likely not long before the fated World Series of that year, with the reverse featuring editor's notes, an original news service photo stamp, and remnants of the teletype caption. An absolutely incredible glimpse of perhaps the most mystifying man ever to take to the diamond! PSA authenticated and slabbed. Photo measures 7 3/4" x 4 3/4".
