Since its introduction in 1996, Pokémon has expanded to include video games, animated series and films, and a trading card game. Enthusiasts from all over the globe compete in the Pokémon World Championships, which take place annually in August. The 2014 Championship saw a shocking upset in the senior division as Trent Orndorff of the United States used his "Trevenant and Accelgor deck" to win the championship, entering the finals as the #8 and lowest ranked seed and defeating the top 2 ranked players on his way to the title. Offered here is the 16" x 5" Pokémon World Championship Trophy, which shows the beloved Pikachu standing on a base and holding his own trophy. We've been informed that a recent private sale of a 2nd-place trophy from the same tournament garnered a price of $55,000, and of course, we feel a 1st-place trophy is far more significant. A hat and shirt from the event are included among the items in the lot as shown in the scans, and a handwritten Letter of Authenticity from champion Orndorff is included as well.
