Originating from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the Johnston Cookie Company produced three sets of Milwaukee Braves cards, which could be acquired in their Pops Cookies packages or by mail order. The second of the three sets, issued in 1954, contains 35 cards and is highlighted by Hank Aaron's rookie issue and the scarce Bob Thomson card, pulled out of production and very short printed. Offered here is a high-grade complete set that ranks #3 on the PSA Set Registry with a 7.68 set rating. Eleven cards are graded PSA 9 MINT (10, 11, 16, 24, 28, 29, 35, 38, 41 Mathews, 42 and unnumbered Dr. Lacks) with no grade lower than PSA 6. Key cards include #5 Aaron PSA 6, 21 Spahn PSA 8 and 34 Thomson PSA 6. For a complete rundown of cards and grades, please visit our website for a link to the PSA Set Registry.
